EVENT INFORMATION

 

Date: Saturday February 20th, 2016 (backup date is Saturday February 27th, 2016)
Registration: Kapiti Underwater Club (next to the Boating Club, Paraparaumu Beach)

Time: 7-7.30am Registration / 7.30-8am Briefing / 8.30am Start
Weigh in: from 2pm (all divers must be back by 3pm
Entry: $40 / Junior $30 (17 and under) / Includes free T-shirt (limited supply)
Prize giving: 4.45pm - dive prizes courtesy of Wild Blue
BBQ: Free BBQ for all competitors and supporters

 

PAIRS ONLY COMPETITION

There is also CASH up for grabs

$1000 Heaviest Kingfish courtesy of M.E. Transport
Plus cash prizes; Mystery weight Moki, Snapper, Blue Cod, Kahawhai, Tarakihi, Red Cod, Butterfish, Crayfish, Trevally etc. 

Junior section; cash prizes for the largest fish and crayfish.  
 

All competitors will receive a goodie bag with nibbles and drink.
 

Note: all divers are required to dive in pairs and to have a float and dive flag attached for safety reasons. 
 

Harcourts charity fish auction from 4pm with all proceeds going to the Mary Potter Hospice Trust - tell your friends/family/neighbours!

Rules Summary

1    The minimum weight for each species is 450 grams gilled and gutted.

2   Points shall be scored as follows:
    100 Points per fish (2 butterfish = 200 points)
    10 Points per kilogram total weight (maximum weight of 8kg for any one fish)

3   Any pair that presents any fish that doesn't comply with MoF size limits will be

     immediately disqualified.
     All fish must be gilled and gutted. Any uncleaned fish presented for weigh-in will

     not count towards your score.

4  Every boat must fly a diver's Alpha Flag

5  Pairs Competition, each pair must tow a red or orange float flying a divers Alpha

    Flag.
    They may have one speargun each but both must be attached to the float with one

    line no longer than 50m and one line no longer than 4m.
    One diver must be on the surface at all times.
    Your boat must be within 200m of the divers at all times.

6   No refunds will be given for postponements or cancellations.

7   All fish weighed in become property of the the organisers that will be auctioned

     for charity.

8   All boatmen must know at all times where all their divers are as failure to do so

     may result in disqualification.

9   The organisers accept no liability and divers enter at their own risk and certify

     they are in good health.

10  All divers must report back at the end of the competition whether they have fish

      to present or not.
